What Is Diamond Wire Saw Program Transfer?

A cutting program stores the settings for a job. Depending on the machine and controller, these may include wire speed, tension, feed, cutting path, slice thickness and slice count. Confirm which settings are included in the transferred file for your model.

Without a transfer option, those programs live only inside the machine. If you want the same recipe on a second machine, somebody retypes it. If the controller is replaced, the recipes have to be rebuilt from notes.

How Does the LAN Connection Work?

Setup takes four steps:

1. Install the PC software. We supply it with the machine when the option is ordered.
2. Connect the machine and PC to the approved local network using wired Ethernet. Confirm interface and network requirements for your controller before installation.
3. Assign an IP address. The machine gets a fixed IP address on your network. Your IT team normally picks this.
4. Transfer programs. From the PC software, select the machine, then upload or download programs.

The connection runs over standard IEEE 802.3 Ethernet, so no special cabling or protocol converters are needed. A normal Cat5e or Cat6 patch cable is enough.

Agree the network configuration with your IT team before installation. If the PC and machine are on different subnets, confirm routing, discovery and firewall requirements with Vimfun. Do not assume cross-subnet operation is supported or disable security controls to enable it.

Network and IT Considerations

Connecting production equipment to a network is an IT decision as much as an engineering one, so it helps to give your IT team these points early:

• The machine needs one Ethernet port on your local network and one fixed IP address.
• Transfer runs inside your local network. The option does not require an internet connection.
• For VLANs or separate network segments, ask Vimfun and your IT team to confirm compatibility and access requirements before installation.
• If your company follows an industrial cybersecurity framework such as ISA/IEC 62443, treat the machine like any other networked controller and apply your normal segmentation rules.

In our experience the technical setup is the quick part. Getting IT approval to put a new device on the plant network usually takes longer, so start that conversation when you place the order.

Limitations of the Program Transfer Option

We'd rather be clear about what this feature is not:

• It is not remote control. You can't start, stop, or jog the machine from the PC. Loading the workpiece, starting the cut, and all safety functions stay at the machine.
• It is not live monitoring. The option moves program files. It doesn't stream wire speed, tension, or alarms to the PC.
• Programs are model-specific. A program built for one model shouldn't be loaded onto a different model with a different axis setup. Copy between machines of the same model.
• A transferred program still needs checking. After loading a program onto a machine for the first time, confirm the parameters on the touchscreen and watch the first cut. A new ダイヤモンドワイヤーループ or a different workpiece size may need small adjustments.
• No network, no transfer. If your facility doesn't allow machines on the network at all, this option isn't the right fit. Tell us and we'll discuss alternatives.

How to Add Diamond Wire Saw Program Transfer to Your Machine

Program transfer is an optional feature. The simplest route is to specify it when you request a quotation, so our engineers configure the machine's software interface before shipment and include the PC software in the delivery.

1. The machine model you're ordering, or the model and serial number of a machine you already have.
2. How many machines you want to connect to one PC.
3. Any network rules from your IT team (fixed IP ranges, VLANs, restrictions on installed software).
